In 1956, Hollywood descended on the town to film the classic movie "Giant," starring James Dean, Elizabeth Taylor, and Rock Hudson. The production left its mark, both figuratively and literally, as the Hotel Paisano still proudly displays memorabilia from that fabled time.
But it wasn't until the 1970s that Marfa began to transform into the art mecca it is today.
